Ex-U.S. President Donald Trump has founded his own social network. It is called Truth Social and is supposed to be an alternative to Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

Donald Trump wants to launch his own social network and create a Twitter-like medium for “open, free and honest conversation without discrimination of political ideologies.”
- Main reason for Truth Social
The reason for this: conventional social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook have blocked Trump’s accounts after he called for the storming of the U.S. Capitol.
- Truth Social Slogan
So far, the Truth Social Internet platform has no content and no users. Only the slogan “Follow the truth” and a waiting list for the social network can be found on the website.
- Planned launch date
Truth Social is scheduled to go online in the first quarter of 2022. An app for iPhones has been developed. It is not yet clear what content and functions users of the new network can expect. According to Trump, however, it will be a censorship-free medium.
- Hidden source of money
However, it is already known that the new network is not only a mouthpiece, but also a source of money for Trump. He founded the Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) as the operator of Truth Social and merged with the company Digital World Acquisition Corporation (DWAC).
- Investors are already on board
Since DWAC, as a publicly traded company, indirectly floats TMTG on the stock market as well, substantial amounts of money are flowing in Trump’s favor even before the actual kickoff of the network. Additionally, Trump has already been able to acquire a billion dollars through investors for his new network.
