Duolingo is a popular language-learning platform that offers courses in over 30 languages. If you have started learning a new language on Duolingo but want to switch to another language, or if you want to remove a language from your list of courses, this article will show you how to delete a language on Duolingo.
On Desktop: How to Delete a Language on Duolingo
First, open Duolingo in your web browser and log in to your account.
Hold on the menu “More” on the left and click on “Settings”.
Then click “Manage Courses” on the right.
Select the language you want to delete from Duolingo. Click on “Remove” and confirm by clicking on “Remove” again.
Deleting a Language on the Duolingo App
If you’re on mobile, open the Duolingo app and log in to your account.
Go to your profile by tapping the profile icon on the bottom of the screen.
Tap the gear icon to open the settings.
Select the “Manage Courses” tab.
Find the language you want to delete and tap on the red minus.
Confirm the deletion by tapping “Delete” again.

Before deleting, please consider the following things
Your Progress: Deleting a language will erase all of your progress and saved data, including your XP, skills, and streaks.
Your Goals: If you have set specific goals for the language you want to delete, they will also be lost.
Backing up data: If you want to keep a record of your progress or goals, it’s a good idea to backup your data before deleting a language.
Additionally, if you are a premium Duolingo user and have purchased a course for the language you want to delete, keep in mind that the purchase is non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another language.
